Half a year has passed, and Gohan's tail has grown back. So why has he unexpectedly attacked Piccolo, half-crazed with violence? There on the island where they are training lies the space pod that originally brought Goku to Earth as an infant. Inside, the flight computer is transmitting instructions to Goku, but Gohan is responding to them instead and is driven to frenzy. Furthermore, every space pod is equipped with a holographic moon image projector, which causes Gohan to metamorphose into a giant ape! Piccolo finally realizes what is happening, and destroys the ship, returning Gohan to normal.

     Over on The Other Side, Goku reaches the end of the Serpentine Road, and discovers nothing but pink clouds — except for a tiny planetoid high above!
